Our precinct didn't have any judges. Sounds fishy, though.

Love your puzzle bt.

Good image and fun to solve.
In our district there were no Republicans running for local positions. A few ran for state supreme court.

Every politician needs platforms.

Our judges are initially appointed to the bench by the governor. Then after their appointment, every election year, we vote to either retain each judge or to send them off the bench.

As a Canadian, I've always found it weird that your judges are elected. Seems like there'd be a great potential for conflict of interest.
#9: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Nov 7, 2018
Great puzzle.

In Connecticut, superior court judges are recommended by the legislature to the governor, who then appoints them. However, I think it's really the other way around. When our governor was O'Neill, all the appointees were Irish. Under John Rowland, they were all young republicans from Waterbury. Under Dan Malloy, they're all from Stamford area. We just elected a new governor yesterday who is a wealthy businessman with no prior political experience (other than losing the last 2 governor's races), so I wonder whom he'll appoint. Tell ya in a year or so!

I was thinking it was Thor. Good puzzle. We didn't have any judges running in my district, thought.
