Puzzle Description:

Thistle: the symbol of Scotland

I've got no pun this time, but it is still a great puzzle.

Loved it. Thanks, Belita. I'm sentimental about Scotland, not so much about thistles. We spent our honeymoon driving more or less around the perimeter of Scotland, visiting every castle and olden graveyard we passed. We ate our lunches out of a picnic basket on the grass at scenic spots, almost saw Nessie, said a prayer at Culloden Moor, ate lots of trifle, and were accidentally locked into Aberdeen's Rubislaw Quarry overnight. It was so long ago that we splurged and spent $1,300 for the whole two weeks(!), including airfare, car rental, and accommodations. Now I have thistles growing in my lawn more than 3,000 miles from Scotland, so I make an effort to remember the good times as I'm donning my industrial-strength gloves and virtual hazmat suit to try to remove them...

What a beautiful memory. I've never been to Scotland, but I just got back from Ireland and I thought I'd see what other national symbols I could copy.
