Nice glasses. I don't think I'll be watching. It's just too darn hot standing around in the sun here in Phoenix.

We're doing a watch party at my office, complete with glasses, Moon Pies, and Sun Chips. Kansas City is right in the path for the total!

I've got mine; not sure where I'll be watching, though. Afraid I'm just going to get stuck in traffic trying to get to a viewing spot.

I'm ready. Really exciting. I'm just hoping that the forecast for "partly cloudy" doesn't mess up the view. We'll get something like 59% eclipse here in Tucson.

Lots of my extended family are going to caravan to Wyoming (near Casper), including my son Chris. Lots of delightful people staying in a crowded cabin with lots of good food and wine. I'm sure they'll have fun. I'm so jealous.

I'm just hoping all the smoke from British Columbia and elsewhere doesn't mess it up. So far this week, the wind changed and is keeping it away. Nice to be able to breathe again, lol.
#8: Aurelian Ginkgo (AurelianGinkgo) on Aug 15, 2017
lol to #3. Very appropriate snacks. I have no idea what my part of the world is expecting, but I only just heard about the event a few days ago, so I guess we probably won't see much.

Claire, I just love your idea so I brought my Moon Pies and Sun Chips too! Norma, you can watch the NASA link instead! Thanks for the link Kristen. Yes, Teresa, I'm hoping the weather will cooperate too. Good luck Gaynor! I hope the fires dissipate and the smoke stays away Koreen. What part of the world are you in Aurelian?

I did the cereal box thing, but was more mesmerized by the shadows on the ground: https://i.imgur.com/iVXF8Uv.png

Yonah - Me too. Cool photo!!

You can use those Solar Glasses on the partial Solar Eclipse on 10/14/23 (Annular if you are in the right place at the right time). North America has another total solar eclipse 4/8/24. Who else is traveling?
#13: Yonah Kondor (yokon965) on Sep 1, 2023
I've had August 12, 2045 earmarked on my Outlook calendar for 12 years now; no travel needed, the point of Greatest Eclipse will be very close to where I reside.
... Just no guarantees I'll still have Outlook then.
