Thanks Bill, Travis, & T.K. I'm renovating a 1916 model and am amazed by the ingenuity of entrepreneurs of the early 20th century; many of whom were European immigrants.

Neat puzzle. My mother worked in a railroad office in St. Louis and won a speed contest on a full keyboard crank operated adding machine. My dad still had a couple of those in his hardware store that I learned to use when I was in high school. I learned the 10 key when I was in college. My dad didn't bother with adding machines as he was very adept at doing sums (as they said in those days) in his head. When my brother was working in the store one summer when he was in high school, my dad sent him to the bank with the day's deposit. The clerk added it up and told my brother she was sorry but my dad had made an error adding up the deposit. My brother looked her straight in the eye and told her to add it again that his dad didn't make mistakes! She came back with an apology a few minutes later.

Thanks for that cool bit of reminiscing, Norma. My wife, Tammie, is a lot like your dad. If I try adding numbers in my head, I come up different totals each time. It's important to acknowledge how accomplished our parents and grandparents really were.

Norma, thanks for helping me reminisce. I am familiar with the railroad office in St. Louis.

I spent the entire solve thinking the title had been "Don't pet me the wrong way!" and I was thinking that was a strange looking cat. ;)

If it's any consolation to you Kristen, I was going to name this puzzle "Don't tab me the wrong way!" (As I look at it now, it DOES look like a strange cat)

That was the title of the puzzle just below yours, in my Unsolved Puzzles list. I decided to skip it because it was too large, but the name stuck in my head. :)
#11: Dave Oas (khpdave) on May 15, 2017
Well, it STILL looks like a weird cat to me now, Kristen.

My work here is done.
#13: Dave Oas (khpdave) on May 16, 2017
Sorry Kristen, your work here is NEVER done.
