Puzzle Description:

Quick rendition of Grant Wood's American Gothic.

#1: K M Sander (willowtide) on Jun 14, 2008 [SPOILER]

American Gothic has been held as a symbol of midwestern resolve. Some see it as a satire, but today I choose to use it as a symbolize of the character of those I see around me as they join together, survive and overcome this natural disaster.

Yes, it is a good likeness, especially for it's dimensions. And happily, it was fun to solve.

Awesome image Willowtide!
(What name would you prefer btw?)

I've always loved this painting and though I know that many, as you say, see it as satire, I have only seen it as the steady determination of the American farmer. What a terrific choice to honor Iowans right now. Well done! :-)

Congratulations on posting your first puzzle. I too look forward to more of your work.

Thank you so much!
