P.S. Maybe "nr 1" stands for puzzle number one as this is the first puzzle for this person.

I suppose "nr" makes more sense as an abbreviation for number, than "no." Silly Latin :)

My parents were German immigrants and my father, to this day, uses Nr. as an abbreviation for number. Not sure where No. came from as there is no "o" in the word.

It's from the Latin, numero. Like lb. for pound, from libra.
