A bit tough getting started, but the helper actually got the whole bottom part by itself! Then the top can be done with edge logic.

I had to peek to get the very bottom row in place, and then I enjoyed it. Interesting info. Thanks!

I was able to solve it without any difficulty using edge logic. First I figured out where the top row went (only one spot it can be), then I worked on the sides. After that I tackled the center rows across and down, periodically going back to the edges. I think this puzzle is completely logical. Thanks - that was fun!

yeah, it's REALLY hard to get the first part with line logic only. The key was that you can get a few colored-in squares within the first 10-20 rows from the bottom. Then you get to a point where in columns 10 or 11 (I don't remember which), there are two places filled in that are far enough apart that they must be the only two numbers in those columns.

I didn't try starting with the top. Since the helper was able to get the whole bottom with only line logic, I was determined to find it!

How do you use the "helper" feature? It never appears on my puzzle screen until I have already solved it. Any help out there?
#7: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jun 5, 2008
When you CREATE a puzzle you can (and SHOULD) use the helper before you publish it. It solves basic line-by-line logic but doesn't check for edge logic or color logic. And I've seen a few places where it didn't check for line-by-line logic completely. If the helper can solve a puzzle with just a bit of edge or color logic help from me, then I will publish it. Of course, if it can solve the whole thing, then the progam doesn't leave it up to raters to determine if it's logical or not-- it's just labeled logical automatically.

Yes, Violet and Lavendar... the third is Lilac.
#11: Gypso (Gypso) on Jun 11, 2008
Ah, Lilac! The missing name sounds pretty normal to me. :)

I'm being lazy now! Haha! It's taking me HOURS to get through these comments. Maybe I'll make a puzzle at work today. If I get inspired...
