Puzzle Description:

Detail of Michelangelo's painting on the Sistine Chapel. Adam on the left-- God on the right. Be gentle. Hands are hard to draw!

Hint time! Start with the 10 on the top row. There is only one place it can go. When you get stuck, look at the 6 and 7 in the two columns on the far right. The next most difficult spot is the fifth row from the top. You can get to a place where all you have left is a 7 in the fifth row and a 3 in the sixth row. At that point there is only one place the 7 can go.

Hope the puzzle is worth the effort. I promise it's solvable! ;)

I adored this puzzle Arduinna, you did a great job on the hands, and it is totally solvable with a good dash of edge logic, loved it, thankyou! :) Would love some more puzzles like this one, hint, hint!

Lovely! :-) I adore a good challenging puzzle!

I would have never thought of doing the hands only on this picture...wow! very good :)

Thanks guys! God's finger is supposed to be a bit straighter but that looked funny and was REALLY hard to solve. Marz, hopefully I'll be able to make more puzzles for a while now that school is out! I'm running out of ideas for paintings though!

A puzzle like this is a joy to solve! Adam's hand is a work of art...(okokok but I love puns!)

I didn't peek at the hints, but it warms the cockles of my heart to know I solved it (after I did a good bit of the left side first) by starting with that 10 on the top, which fell into place pretty fast!

When I was a little over halfway done (I had most of Adam's hand, but still wasn't seeing what it was) Valerie, one of our 19 year olds walked in and said, "Oh my god, it's part of "Creation" from the Sistine Chapel!" I could have beaned her! I like to savor the "Aha! moment" when I finally "see" the puzzle for myself.

It's a tribute to your skill as a puzzlemaker, Arduinna, that it was still every bit as exciting to solve lol

You have to hide those halfway solved puzzles from nosey relatives! I'm glad you started with the 10. The solver got NOWHERE until I got that in!

So, any suggestions for painting puzzles? Jan did a lot of them (some of which I inadvertently repeated!) way back when. I tried the Venus on a Halfshell one (I forget the actual title!), but that was way hard to do. I've thought about American Gothic (farmer and wife), but that would have to be huge to be any good. Impressionism doesn't translate too well to pbn. Maybe I could do Pixilated Art and do a statue?

This is another one that kept coming up on my random puzzle clicks that I skipped right over until today... The pastor called while I was in the middle of solving it (had God's hand, but hadn't figured out what it was yet). When I got back to my desk, I looked at it and knew immediately what it would be! Amazing how a slightly different perspective changes everthing.

Very nice!

What's weird... the print version is different than this web version...

Excellent. What a creative idea!!!

I got Adam's hand done and knew what it would be right away. What an iconic section of an iconic painting! Tough logic, too.

Loved it. Thanks

#6: I was called away from my computer, and when I came back I said, "That's Adam's hand!" I was annoyed at myself, for discovering that too soon. :)
