Stunning!! Thank you.
#2: Adam Nielson (monkey) on May 12, 2008
Had to cheat. Nice image though.
#3: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on May 12, 2008
beautiful picture (but there is multiple solutions) I loved the challenge..thank you :)

? I don't get how it's a challenge. I could do about half of it, and then it was going to be totally trial and error...since I could tell it was a bald eagle I could have tried to solve it by pretty much guessing, but to me, the fun of solving a logic puzzle is in strategic elimination of squares so that even if the image is nonsense it can still be solved.

If I just guess because I know what probably goes where, I feel as if I'm cheating...I mean I don't think it's wrong, but it takes the fun/challenge out of it for me.

That being said, now I'm going to cheat and view the answer because from what I did solve it does look as if the picture will be pretty great to see!

it was a challenge because lately most of the puzzles have been thumb through puzzles for me (quick & simple) although the puzzle took some guessing I had to challenge my mind to see if there was indeed a possible solution (which I came up with a different one) I think the puzzle could be easily made into an unique solution puzzle, but I enjoyed the mental challenge anyway :) & the final picture is fantastic!

Great image, I had to cheat too, but it was fun, thanks :)

its a simple puzzle - no guessing required - only took about 30 seconds and NO guessing - all logic ----- how can we change the classification after people say a puzzle requires guessing just because they don't know how to do them?
#8: harris harris (torough4u) on May 29, 2008
thats why i changed it. so there was no guessing required, but its still on there and there is no guessing now
#9: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on May 29, 2008
Wow..those small changes made it pretty easy to do..I like the new image better too :)
#10: julius nadas (jnadas) on May 29, 2008 [HINT]
Maybe we need to have a new classification for the guessing thing, something like: "requires more than single line logic", or "requires edge logic"
This puzzle definitely can not be done if you only do one line (row or column) at a time, but it still does not require guessing, and it has a unique solution. Once you have done everything you can, doing one line at a time, all you have to do is to look at both row 10 and 11 together and you should be able to see that position 15 in row 10 can not be colored. After that you can continue to solve the puzzle one line at a time.
#11: Arduinna (arduinna) on May 30, 2008 [HINT]
Agreed. The 6 in Row 10 is key. Definitely solvable!

I'm not even getting an option to rate this as solvable or not at this point. There may be an error. I would create a message for Jan about it in the general topics in the forum. He won't see this unless he solves this puzzle.

Once I make a ruling on a puzzle, nobody but me can change it. I was slow in catching up with the fact that the puzzle had been changed are changing the ruling. I agree that the puzzle is now logically solvable, though the eye requires some tricky edge logic.

There is still a bit of flakiness with revised puzzles. It looks like if a puzzle is revised, you stop seeing new comments about it, unless you solve the new version. Probably that isn't what should happen.
#13: Tonia Bergh (tonia) on Oct 18, 2009 [SPOILER]
Wow! This is really a fantastic image! I'm not sure how I solved the eye part - mostly trial and error on my part. But it was definitely worth the challenge!

Found to be logically solvable by gator.
#15: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Jun 24, 2016
What a wonderful image in such a simple puzzle. Great job.
#16: Jota (jota) on Sep 24, 2016
Majestic!
#17: Lauren B (lblair) on Jan 21, 2020
nice.
#18: Byrdie (byrdie) on Dec 12, 2020 [HINT] [SPOILER]
It's a beautiful image. For me the solve involved trial and error on the 2 in row 11. Not sure how others got it to go but I got stuck on the eye and that's what worked.
#19: Ailsa Hebert (bazette3) on Apr 19, 2021
Really Nice! Really enjoyed the solve! Thanks!
