Very cool-my son loved it!#2: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Apr 3, 2008
nice puzzle :)#3: Gypso (Gypso) on Apr 3, 2008 [SPOILER]
Nice longboat. I liked the wave at the front.#4: Minnie Fuerstnau (m.fuerstnau) on Apr 4, 2008 [SPOILER]
Was I the only one who had to guess in order to solve this one?
Thank you Jack. This is a fun image! :)
I found the stripes on the sail by a combo of logic and guess- really nice final image. Thanks!#5: Jan Wolter (jan) on Apr 10, 2008 [SPOILER]
Well, the red stripes you can get logically (though not easily), and quite a bit of the bit of the ship under the sail, but that's where I ground to a halt. I really don't think this is logically solvable. A few extra black pixels here and there would be enough to fix it though.#6: John Helmsen (netheron) on May 20, 2009 [HINT]
It is solvable by logic alone, but requires some backtracking.#7: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Aug 10, 2020 [SPOILER]
As soon as I read the title, I thought of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApxnAr6pRt0#8: Byrdie (byrdie) on Aug 30, 2020 [HINT] [SPOILER]
It's a nice idea for an image but it needs a lot of work to make it solvable by logic alone. Requiring some "backtracking" is essentially trial and error and therefore qualifies as guessing. I solved it straight out but after line logic and color/smile logic (on the red in the sails) failed, I'll admit to having used "viking ship logic" to figure where some of my guesses should go.
