The Union jack is probably the second most done puzzle on this site ( UK second to USA yet again...)

I like the way you did yours its not exactly as symetric as the real one but it make it kind of charming. It remind me of a flag draw by a child, all the colour are rigth but there is a little something off and make it cute. I mean that as a compliment hope your not going to be offend by it

I really like your serie both as fun fast puzzle and as a learning experiment for a couple of them

I'm curious, does anyone know why it's called a Union Jack?

Quoted from http://www.gpwu.ac.jp/~biddle/the_union_jack.htm

Union Jack is a strange name for the flag, because a 'jack' is a flag that is flown on a 'jackstaff' or a small flag pole on the back of a naval ship. The flag should be called the Union Flag.

The name Union Jack may come from a royal proclamation issued by Charles II (1660-85) that the Union Flag should be flown by ships of the Royal Navy as a jack, (the small flag at the back of the ship).

Thanks Naneki! I'll add that to the rest of the trivia I have stored in my head. :)

Sylvain, the real flag is not symetric. From Wikipedia: "While the flag appears symmetric, the white lines above and below the diagonal red are different widths. On the side closest to the flagpole the white lines above the diagonals are wider; on the side furthest from the flagpole the converse is true."
