When sledgehammer dawned on me as I made that list - I figured it would be the best shot out of all of them - Thank you Tom!!

Kind of a sick video. I'd never seen it.

The nail started off as a railroad spike. But it wasn't solvable...

and why can't the 13 cross to the left of r5? iel dots a block at the top left in r's 1-4 and c's 1-4. the 2 clue in c5 limits that much....but below that, the cross clues might be part of the 4 clue in c5 with the 2 clue somewhere above. the 2 clue in c5 doesn't limit things as far down as r11 where the 13 clue is.

apart from that, the 5 clue in c19 is limited to a range near the bottom, gaining you some black and dots

as far as I can tell, line logic and the above-listed adv logic steps get a solver a total of 17 blacks and 41 dots. I'll wait on some sort of verdict from Joe before tagging this one, but at the moment I'm gonna say that I think it requires guessing.

No, enough systematic placing the 4 in c1 will eventually allow you to put a black in r17,c1.

That hammer is way too big to be anything but a sledgehammer. :)

I think I used the 2 clue as a foil for placing the 13. Had tried solving it too many times. If the two offset against the 13, it would force the 13 to the right of C4 solving the puzzle. However, the 2 can't be placed as the 4 hasn't been. I spent too much time on it, and am not going to try again as the puzzle has been solved.

I had attempted to get this puzzle correct too many times and got sloppy. I added the two clue, after 20 recreations of the puzz. I stupidly assumed that the 4 was placed and the 2 forced the 13 right of C4. When you do it too many times, sometimes one becomes a frustrated idiot. Kurt, have you tried the first 10 puzzles I did? Artwork is crappy (per usual). There is some challenge there. My first one was really challenging (and you will appreciate the topic), however someone gave me bad feedback and I changed it to LLS. I thought it was Kristen, but she was having fun with me. Check a few of them out...

I remember. I thought Travis or someone had made the puzzle, and I was joking around about the image I saw. I didn't realize until later that it was someone's first puzzle, or I wouldn't have teased. Yet. ;)
