Couldn't come up with the answer, but once amyfaith said it, it was obvious. Way to go amyfaith. :)

I was reading up on the company... they have incredible integrity... every piece ever manufactured by them will fit with every other piece... even back to the original wooden blocks. We have over 50,000 that we've been collecting and playing with for four generations. Can you tell i'm a fan?

Red can be solved with LL alone.
For the black, keep using EL and LL until you're just left with a section in the middle. Then you can eliminate some options in C13 (it can't go into R7 or R14 without causing a contradiction), followed by some in C12 (it can't go in the top part of the remaining squares without causing a contradiction). LL solves the rest.

I really enjoyed the two-tier edge logic, first with the black O, then with the inner bit far away from the actual puzzle's edges.

I did EL on row 18 then, as Wombat saw, I found where the final 1 in row 13 should go.

I also thought this was the University of Omaha's logo, but as it turns out, I'd forgotten something nice from my childhood which I'm now glad to remember.
