In Russia (and previously in the Soviet Union), Pravda (“Truthâ€) is a newspaper associated with the Communist Party. On the other hand, Novosti (“Newsâ€) was one of the largest news agencies (it was shut down in December 2013). Thus Russians had the choice of “Truth†or “Newsâ€â€¦.
