beautiful and fun to solve. kind of 3D, even.#2: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Dec 1, 2013
Very nice and a great solve#3: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Dec 1, 2013
Very well done.:)#4: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Dec 4, 2013

This needs deep edge logic to get going.#6: Jota (jota) on Jan 2, 2014
If we compare the 8 in r1 with the clues in r3, we can see that the only place it can fit is in c12-19. This same logic can be done on the other three 8s.
Then we can do deep edge logic on the outside 5s.
If we compare the left 5 in r1 with the clues in r3 we can see that it cannot be in c8-10, so they must be white. This also can be done to all the outside 5s.
After line logic, look at the left 3 in r2. Lets do deep edge logic to it.
If it is in c8-10, there would be a conflict in r4 where there can only be a 2 in that space. So r2c10 is white.
Then line logic to finish.
Nice solve! The symmetry of the snowflake was the only put down.#7: Al LaPointe (kancamagus) on Jan 8, 2017 [HINT]
i enjoyed the symmetry as a change of pace. assuming a unique solution, it was a simple matter to center the 8's on the edges to get started.
