Putting up storm windows

One of the few advantages of AZ. Don't have to do this. Cute puzzle.#2: Jota (JOTA) on Oct 5, 2013

whether the black in c3r6 is part of the 2 or the 1 clue in c3, c1r3 will be a dot. line logic finishes
I'm lucky,I have newer windows that don't require storms,but I kinda miss this chore a bit.Good one Joel Lynn.:)#6: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Oct 6, 2013 [SPOILER]
Thanks, all.#7: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Oct 7, 2013
We have thermal windows, but some of the sashes leak around the edges. Some storm windows came with the house, so we put them on the windward side. Still had to tape one living room window so it wouldn't whistle when the wind blows hard off the lake. Didn't have this problem when I lived in Northern Virginia...

Neat little puzzle. Did have to guess a bit for the top.#13: Yonah Kondor (yokon965) on Apr 10, 2025 [HINT]
Fun solve because, while I don't know if I guessing was ultimately *required* at the top, I just saw the pattern in the numbers and took a chance with it anyway; it worked out! :)#14: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jun 14, 2025 [HINT]
I don't think Kurt's hint in #4 is correct.
Here's what I did:
At 84% I had most of the puzzle filled in, but lots of open space in rows 1, 3, and 6. Since rows 1 and 3 each were missing only a 2 (which adds up to four squares filled in), but there were a lot more than four 1's on the top, the only way to place all those 1's was if the blotch in row 6 was very long. So even if the 2's from rows 1 and 3 were all the way to the left in columns 19-20 and 17-18, the blotch in row 6 would have to stretch to the right all the way to column 16.
From there, line logic got me to 93%.
Next, if either the 2 in row 1 or the 2 in row 3 is in any of the spaces at the right-hand side of the row, then both 2's in columns 4 and 5 need to go up or down, and either way that blocks the top 1 in column 6 from having anyplace to go. So the 2's in rows 1 and 3 don't go in any of the spaces to the right -- the right-hand side of those rows are all dots.
Line logic to 96%.
If the 1 in column 6 is in row 3, that leads quickly to a contradiction, so the 1 must be in row 1.
Line logic to finish.
