I was wondering if it were shingles. I can appreciate what you are going through to the extent that my sister was diagnosed with shingles a few months ago and is still suffering from the nerve pain. However, another great, great puzzle.

I know exactly what your sister is going through. thank you for solving my puzzle and for the comment/kudos.

It's always a relief to find out what the problem is, and know you'll start to get the correct treatment.

Ouch. I too "diagnosed" shingles from your belly rash puzzle. My whole family is susceptible to the herpes varicella-zoster virus. I got shingles the week before my wedding and honeymoon. Each of my parents developed it as seniors. My sister went through a decade where she got debilitating shingles every year like clockwork. Two of my children had chicken pox twice, which is extremely rare, and the third had such a nasty case at 9 months old that she was hospitalized. I hope you're feeling better now, Linda, and thank you for the puzzle series.

Love the hospital gown, and the scale. Great image as always Linda. You never disappoint us. I had a minor case of shingles, but my mom had it on her face, poor dear.:)

Kristen - you're so right - it's worse being sick and not knowing why...

poor lollipop! shingles right before your wedding! that's awful. and your poor sister. I think that would have driven me nuts. I hope your kids are doing much better now. if they're anything like my son was when he was little, nothing keeps them down for long.

thanks for the kudos, aldege. I am thankful it didn't get to my face because I've heard that can really be painful.

I suspected shingles as well. your symptoms were the same as my mother's, who had a case in the 1950's. get well soon! and the puzzles have been great!

I too thought shingles. Isn't amazing how that puzzle showing us the rash was so good that we could all diagnose the problem :)
Awesome puzzle as usual Linda!

I don't comment often, but I just wanted to say how glad I am you're back; you are my favorite puzzle creator, bar none. And while I'm waiting with bated breath to see what the doctor has to say next, I take it that your return means that these troublesome medical issues are now resolved/controlled and you are feeling much better. I'm sorry you've been through so much.

From your Pikes Peak puzzle, I take it you live along the front range; I haven't heard anything about the Springs and flooding, so I hope the disaster hasn't affected you personally.
#12: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Sep 18, 2013
thank you, tom!!!

Amyfaith - what kind comments! I really appreciate what you've said and am humbled. yes, i'm much better now. and yes, I live in Colorado springs - I haven't personally suffered from the flooding (thank God), but I do have friends who have had to deal with washed out roads and flooding creeks. Manitou springs is the next closest town, and they have had awful flooding throughout the summer. The folks in northwestern Colorado have it the worst, though. there are people stranded in small towns in the mountains there due to complete decimation of the roads. I've lived in Colorado springs for over 40 years and this is the worst I've ever seen it. this and the fires. wow - thank you for asking about this.
