I like mixed puzzles, for example sudoku-kakuro or pbn-snakes.

It's true. This is bacause the needless lines (as I said). As usual, not the drawing should be important but the puzzle.
The good idea is to make "medley" puzzles (this is an offering of World Puzzle Federation, too).
