The home of Prairie Home Companion.:)#4: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Mar 25, 2013
And you have fished every lake, right?#5: Dave Oas (khpdave) on Mar 25, 2013
Al - Yes, you are right - also home of Garrison Keeler's Prarie Home Companion!#6: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Mar 25, 2013
Norma - Well, not EVERY one but I fished a bunch of them - even in the winter (ice fishing with my dad was my favorite).
Ice fishing's gotta be a trip. Did you do indoor with all the amenities or brave the cold outdoors?#7: Dave Oas (khpdave) on Mar 25, 2013
Indoor. There was a set bunk beds, a heater, one small window and "a hole in the floor".#8: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Mar 25, 2013
Have you read Patrick F. McManus? If you haven't, start with his earliest books where his stories appeared in Field and Stream. He adds a special kind of humor to his outdoor experiences. Very entertaining.#9: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Mar 25, 2013 [SPOILER]
I believe The Cat Who... books (by Lilian Jackson Braun) are also set in Minnesota. "Moose County, 400 miles north of everywhere"#10: Carol Brand (KarylAnn) on Mar 26, 2013
Sounds like nice memories, Dave.
Kristen, yes you are right about The Cat Who books. Lilian Braun died two years ago...sad to know we will never get to read another The Cat Who book.
