Puzzle Description:

Man is sitting on the roof, thinking what he has to do next.

#1: Bob Purosky (rpurosky) on Jan 9, 2008

Couldn't quite make out the picture.
#2: m2 (mercymercy) on Jan 10, 2008 [SPOILER]
I don't understand what the red blob at the bottom is. It looks like some poisonous jungle frog biting the doorman in the leg.
#3: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Jan 19, 2008
I think these are D&D?
#4: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Jan 21, 2008 [SPOILER]
I enjoyed solving the puzzle, but don't get the picture either. The resolution is to "chunky" to make out anything other than the man himself.
#5: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Jan 21, 2008
I just noticed I spelled "too" wrong in my comment (as in "to chunky"). I tried to edit it in order to correct it but that option doesn't seem to work.
#6: Gypso (Gypso) on Jan 22, 2008 [SPOILER]
I'm having the same problem with the edit function JoDeen. I had to laugh at myself about how quickly I've come to rely on that function. lol

I see a set of steps (stairs?) in black on the right with a patch of blue to its immediate left ( I presume this is the river from the title?).
The top red vertical lines also look like steps to me with a green/black striped carpet lying on top (again, the title?)
The man is in the lower left corner sitting alone and waiting for a key.
That's what I see.

Dungeons and Dragons Naneki? Wow, my brain is getting dusty. I missed out on the whole role playing game thing back then. I bet it was a lot of fun. :)

Thanks for the puzzle Drakmoth. I'm pretty sure that I'm doing your puzzles out of order now. I hope that doesn't make a difference? ^>^
#7: Kevin Sobiski (biskit) on Jan 30, 2008 [SPOILER]
The things on the right are the stairs. Across the top, I see a balcony with a green/black rug hanging from it. The water runs under the stairs. The man is staring out the window with his knees pulled to his chest. That is what I can see.
#8: Jan Wolter (jan) on Feb 28, 2008
This puzzle has been revised and is much more identifiable then it was when the first comments were posted about it.
#9: Alaris Zaaqurin (zephyr) on Apr 26, 2008 [SPOILER]
Why do you keep making red men? It's very troll-ish.
#10: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Jul 15, 2008 [SPOILER]
So, apparently no one understands this puzzle either. The title has nothing to do with the picture. What kind of river runs in a house. Or are we looking at a partial reflection and seeing the outside as well? I give up on this one. Not worth wasting brain cells to try and figure out an imitation Picasso. :-)
#11: Gypso (Gypso) on Jul 20, 2008
Thank goodness you said something Jan!
I couldn't figure out why Biskit and I were seeing two very different images. Lol
#12: Janne Pylkkänen (Drakmoth) on Aug 4, 2008
This were the taste of your bitterness. I am the maker, not the trendsaler... Images are only images, this world is real...
#13: Jan Wolter (jan) on Aug 20, 2008
And this image has changed again. Prettier now, and easier to recognize, but with so little white space that it is very easy to solve.
#14: Jane Doe (telly) on Aug 21, 2008 [SPOILER]
agree with Jan (#13) on this one.
Question...where did you learn we needed money to get into Heaven? I think St. Peter, or whoever guards Heaven's gate has no use for money. lol.
Or maybe that was lost in translation.
#15: m2 (mercymercy) on Aug 22, 2008 [SPOILER]
All the money in this world isn't enough to get him upstairs to heaven's gate. Poverty will get him to the gate faster since the poorer a person is the bigger chance they have of dying. Dying of course is the way to get to the gate. Getting through the gate requires something entirely different. Specifically humility. One must be humble to accept Jesus' payment to get us through the gate.
#16: Meg Tayler (rebelcat) on Aug 24, 2008 [SPOILER]
I thought he was sitting in front of giant chess pieces - it looked like a pawn and maybe a king or queen to me. :-)
#17: Gypso (Gypso) on Sep 6, 2008 [SPOILER]
This is very different from the last version.
This is a man "sitting on the roof, thinking what he has to do next."
I like the red face. It doesn't look troll like to me but more lion-ish.
Thank you Drakmoth. Interesting.
#18: Byrdie (byrdie) on Jun 14, 2009 [SPOILER]
Am I the only one seeing the mask from "Scary Movie" painted red?
