Puzzle Description:

When I worked on the farm in Minnesota, this was the pre-Christmas routine (followed by hot chocolate back home).

Fun puzzle, Dave. Was it purely a Christmas tree farm?
#3: Dave Oas (khpdave) on Nov 30, 2012 [SPOILER]
Thanks Kurt!

Carol - It was livestock farm with up to 1000 head of feeder cattle and about 1100 farmable acres owned by two brothers. I worked for them for 3-1/2 years (4 Christmases) and they treated me like I was family.

Really nice image for its size, and a pleasant story to go with it.

Thanks!

i grew up in chgo...we have to tie the tree on top of the car.... in the spring sappy car

Thanks Aldege and Norma. Our backyard is barely big enough for the Redbud and Golden Rain trees in it but there's a cut-your-own Christmas tree farm about 10 miles away we go to.

I think I see another puzzle forming in your head Tom. We'll be looking for it!
#10: Carol Brand (KarylAnn) on Dec 1, 2012 [SPOILER]
Sounds like it was a tiring job Dave but I bet it was made all the better by working for someone who treated you so well.

We've never cut our own Christmas tree tho we do have some farms on the east end of Long Island. Maybe next year...tho I can see us ending up like the Griswald's with a tree way too big for our house!

Memories, Carol - It's all about memories (even an 8 ft tree in a 7 ft high room)

Wonderful puzzle, Dave. There's nothing like the scent of a real pine tree, and the aroma of hot chocolate. Mmmmm.

There's nothing like taking the kids in the snow to get a real tree!
#15: Dave Oas (khpdave) on Apr 5, 2013 [SPOILER]
We have a cut-your-own Christmas tree farm near us. We used to try to get there early to get the BEST tree. In the past few years, we've taken that tree that no one wanted (yeah, the Charlie Brown tree). We enjoy these as much, or more, as we did those "perfect" trees.
