Ohhh, I'm so sorry you had to suffer! I hope you had a fireplace to keep you warm.

I know how you feel, I'm from Kansas and I was without power for about a week, luckily it just got turned back on.
#4: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Dec 18, 2007

Oh for Pete's sake, Arduinna...I meant Oklahoma, not Kentucky. Lol...and I complain that people get Iowa mixed up with Ohio and Idaho! I don't know what I was thinking...chalk it up to temperature shock...I was returning from three months in Florida.

...anyway, I certainly sympathize with your tribulations from that storm.
#8: Arduinna (arduinna) on Dec 19, 2007
We didn't suffer too much, Naneki. Who needs hot showers? I just missed playing everyone's puzzles and saying hi. There were about a million new posts on the forum when I got power back!
#9: Gitte Olesen (granny40) on Dec 20, 2007
I'm glad that you are all back on this site again :o)
#10: Arduinna (arduinna) on Dec 20, 2007
Aw, thanks, Gitte.
#11: Twillis (twillis) on Dec 20, 2007
A lot of rural Kansas is still out. I'm lucky in that I'm down the street from the water plant, our power is never out for very long.
#12: Arduinna (arduinna) on Dec 20, 2007
I just checked our main power plant website. There are still 5000 people without power in Oklahoma, and interestingly, they're mostly in the metro area.
#13: Gypso (Gypso) on Dec 21, 2007
I'm so VERY glad to hear from you again Arduinna. I was worried about you. I figured with few postings (at least when you can check them on a daily basis) that many people at webpbn were without power. Don't freak out, Jan says that the site will be down sometime tonight for a little while.
I'm happy and comforted that you and Twillis, Craig and JoDeen (Hi JoDeen! Nice to meet you!) are all okay.
How about you Minnie, LV, Deana,Asobi and *Oh!* who am I leaving out? Everyone doing alright now?

Thank you for the puzzle BG. Here's a big Love Fest hug to warm you up. :)

There is actually a big water access thingy in our back pasture; every once in awhile we get a call asking if we can move the horses so they can work on it.

The water is piped to the county south of us where all the rich folks live, so I figure they're all paying to keep my lights on. Ha!
#16: Deana L (ffswife) on Dec 21, 2007
Haven't you heard? The Dotte is the IT place to live these days! Ok, ok... SOME of the Dotte is the it place to live these days...

Speaking of... have we heard anything more about JoCo trying to take take over western WyCO, and/or merge the counties...? I haven't heard anything in awhile... Not that it'll EVER happen!
#17: Twillis (twillis) on Dec 21, 2007
No, I hadn't heard that one. But I think you are right about this county moving up in the world, the next few years should be interesting ones.
#18: Deana L (ffswife) on Dec 21, 2007
Oh, goober head from JoCo in the state senate (can't remember his name right off) tried to do something early in the session last year, I think. Naturally, they just want everything west of 435... cause our county isn't small enough! :D He did state that as a compromise, they'd be willing to merge the two counties... generous, I thought. *rolls eyes* :D
#19: Gypso (Gypso) on Dec 22, 2007
Ahhhh. The Ditto Dottes. I love you two!!! :D
#20: Deana L (ffswife) on Dec 22, 2007
We love you too Gyps.. :)

#25: Deana L (ffswife) on Dec 22, 2007
Awww... gotta love a fellow (does that word work in this instance? :D) firefighter's wife! And Nancy listens to me when I whine... so... love fests all around! ;)
#26: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Dec 22, 2007

I didn't have any power outages, but it was a busy few weeks. First finals, then lots of parties between Christmas and birthdays. Since then I've got so many new video games that I don't know which one to play...
#29: Arduinna (arduinna) on Dec 28, 2007
We got a PS3! I can only pbn now when James is playing his games!
#30: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Dec 28, 2007
well encourage him daily ;)
#31: Jen (lightvader) on Dec 29, 2007
We've had a Wii since May. Between birthdays and christmas there are about a dozen new games for me to master. Once my brothers go back to school next week, I won't have to share anymore either :)
#32: Gypso (Gypso) on Dec 31, 2007
So much fun, so little time...
Enjoy it thoroughly. :)
#33: Jen (lightvader) on Jan 1, 2008
Happy New Year!

I'm about 60% through one of the games. I beat all the levels now I just have to collect everything.
#34: Gypso (Gypso) on Jan 1, 2008
I forgot to ask all you holiday gamers for titles!!!
I need titles!!! ;)

#36: Gypso (Gypso) on Jan 2, 2008
A very impressive list LV! Game on. :D
#37: Bionerd (nieboo) on Jan 2, 2008
I just got Guitar Hero 1-3. Very addictive.

#38: Jen (lightvader) on Jan 2, 2008
I agree, it is very addictive. But we only have number 3 because that's the only one on a Nintendo System. :-)
#39: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Jan 2, 2008
Speaking of addictive gaming I just dl all the mario advance in rom for my son, thinking its the port off all those great Mario game. But to my surprise they add a couple of think and add some more. So now I back on my pc playing old mario and trying to unlock everything again. I'm probably going to buy the original gba cartridge and play them on my son nintendo DS
#40: Gypso (Gypso) on Jan 2, 2008
Go for it Sylvain! ;-)

My youngest son's best buddy LOVES Guitar Hero. I've never played it though. What makes it sooo good?
#41: Jen (lightvader) on Jan 2, 2008
Well that depends on who you are. My brother, age 9, likes to put on a rock show while he plays. He's fairly good and plays most songs on medium difficulty. I like it because its challenging. I stand still when I play though so it's not quite as fun to watch. Like my brother I play on the medium difficulty but I think I'm slightly better then him.

Sylvain, I have Super Mario World Advanced and I think its a lot of fun. The game itself seems almost exact from the Super Nintendo version we have but they did add the original Mario game in there as well. For some really fun mini games, try the New Super Mario Brothers game or Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo DS. They have the same mini games in both games but they are a lot of fun. I especially like the one where you have to sort the Bob-ombs.
#42: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Jan 2, 2008
yeah I know about those two I'll buy them for my son ( and me) soon
#43: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jan 3, 2008
I've been playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion. James has Ninja Gaiden and Conan. He likes him the swords!
#44: Twillis (twillis) on Jan 3, 2008
I played Guitar Hero at my sister's as that was the Official Holiday Entertainment.

I got booed of the stage twice, but this was to be expected*. It was pretty fun, anyhow.

*I am very bad at video games -- one year it was Katamari Damacy, and as I got yelled at by the King of the Universe after one particularly bad round, my sister said, "Wow, I've never seen that screen before." So I guess you could say she was really impressed with my skill, in a way.
#45: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jan 3, 2008
You're the best! ...at doing it badly! That's what I always say!
#46: Jen (lightvader) on Jan 3, 2008
We got my Aunt to play for the simple reason that she could get booed off stage. And My brother got booed off several times before he finally got the hang of it.
#47: Twillis (twillis) on Jan 3, 2008
Well, you know, if you can't be a good example, be a terrible warning, I always say.
#48: Jen (lightvader) on Jan 3, 2008
Good saying.
#49: Tom La Sota (tomlasota) on Jan 3, 2008
Played Guitar Hero with Bionerd over the holidays. It was so much fun I'm looking to buy a real guitar ( which appears much harder to play ). :)
#50: Gypso (Gypso) on Jan 3, 2008
Nice Twilis! You've defined my life's work. ;)

Let us all know when the CD party is Tom! I want 4. :D
Does she ever get the fish to play?
#51: Jen (lightvader) on Jan 3, 2008
I think I'll stick with guitar hero, that's about as far as my musical ability extends.
#52: Bionerd (nieboo) on Jan 3, 2008
i think you should stick with the guitar hero daddy-o.
#53: Gypso (Gypso) on Jan 3, 2008
Ignore comment #52 Tom and take a cue from Debra:
Redefine "eccentric" and work on embarrassing your children! ;)
#54: Tom La Sota (tomlasota) on Jan 4, 2008
If I embarrass my child, it's her fault. She taught me how to read the messages on the Forum.
#55: Bionerd (nieboo) on Jan 4, 2008
Embarrass moi?! I can always just send a nice picture of you to naneki if you embarass me. :)
#56: Gypso (Gypso) on Jan 5, 2008
Beat her to the punch Tom. Take evasive action, quick! :)
#57: Tom La Sota (tomlasota) on Jan 6, 2008
I have to find a pic that won't scare too many people. Otherwise you're have to save it for Halloween.
#58: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Jan 6, 2008
very funny..send me a couple of them so I can see which one will work best for a puzzle..thank you in advance :)
