I say "smile logic" at the end am and sticking to it. If the solvers truly believe it is not, I will tweak once more.#2: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Oct 24, 2012 [SPOILER]

Question for the loyal puzzle commenters who are generally loyal puzzle solvers? I thought this was a difficult solve. The red solves eventually with line logic. I thought this was a bit of back and forth and up and down (eliminating edges and middles for LL). Then the black requires several areas of edge logic. The eyes require smile logic, and I don't know if my interpretation was correct (if not, I can probably tweak it with one or two black pixels). It is rated 2 stars in difficulty. I believe that this is one of my better puzzle efforts both artistically (already proved I am not an artist), and in difficulty. What do you think? I am ignoring the scores... This creation took hours.#7: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Oct 25, 2012 [HINT] [SPOILER]
I completed all but the eyes with edge and line logic. I guessed that based on the tilt of the head, the right side eye would be higher, and that worked out using smile logic. I rated it 3 for difficulty, because it took me a bit to figure out the edge logic, and the eyes were tricky to place. The image was pretty good, so I gave that 3 as well, but I didn't know the movie.#8: Wombat (wombatilim) on Oct 25, 2012 [HINT]
I did use edge logic to place the 6 in C1.#9: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Oct 25, 2012
However, I had to guess on the eyes. While I can tell that the 2 in R8 goes on the right side, that didn't mean both 1s had to go on the left, and it doesn't help me figure out which 2 of the 4 spaces on the right were marked, or even what I can eliminate based on that knowledge.
Using smile logic only works if you make some assumptions about positioning that are not obvious from the remaining clues.
color logic for the red was easy enough. ll gets you most of the outline...used edge logic on the 5 in r17. then ll finished the outline. had to guess at the eyes though. guessed the 2-2 clue remaining in r7 were in the middles of the 2 boxes and the rest solved. I'd not call it "smile logic" though... this puzzle takes an educated guess at the end.#10: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Oct 25, 2012

New version definitely solvable. Thanks.#13: Tom King (sgusa) on Oct 26, 2012
Thanks for the critiques, all. I added 4 pixels.#14: Tom King (sgusa) on Oct 26, 2012 [SPOILER]
Not necessarily my sentiments, but this is the image that I used:
