Well, what do you expect from an 8x8 puzzle.
#3: Lacayo laca (lacalaca) on Nov 17, 2005 [SPOILER]
Yes! it is a poodle
#4: Lacayo laca (lacalaca) on Nov 17, 2005 [HINT]
It is a french... but in India they "bar, bar"

I think that your son is very talented, and that is a very cute dog.
#7: Rachel R (rachel) on Aug 22, 2007
I'm impressed that you could make something with a uzzle so small.
#8: Alex Klages (metalfoot) on Nov 30, 2007
This is reminiscent of character graphics on the C64 or other 8 bit machines...
#9: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Apr 14, 2008 [SPOILER]
A President's Buddy...Fala perhaps? lol
#10: Jan Wolter (jan) on Apr 14, 2008 [SPOILER]
I was referring to Bill Clinton's dog, Buddy. Though Buddy was a lab. I think Fala was a terrier and probably looked more like this picture.
#11: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Apr 14, 2008
I thought he looked more like a Doberman pincher!
#12: Bionerd (nieboo) on Apr 15, 2008 [SPOILER]
what are you guys talking about? It's a diagonal fish. :)

#13: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Apr 15, 2008
LOL
#14: Gypso (Gypso) on Apr 15, 2008
Hmmm. I'm trying Bionerd. I'm trying.
#15: Jan Wolter (jan) on Apr 15, 2008 [SPOILER]
Hmm...looking back at the puzzle, it doesn't look as terrierish as I thought. (When the OED adds "terrierish" to the 2043 edition, it will reference this post.) It doesn't look the least bit fishy to me though. I think Nieboo has been looking at too many fishies.
#16: Gypso (Gypso) on Apr 15, 2008
I look forward to that edition Jan.
#17: Merili (merilinnuke) on Apr 16, 2008 [SPOILER]
Nieboo, is the dog's head like the tail of the fish?
#18: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Apr 16, 2008
Nieboo will see fish in every puzzle..bless her heart!
#19: Bionerd (nieboo) on Apr 16, 2008 [SPOILER]
The front two legs are the tail, the head is the dorsal fin (fin on top), the back two legs are the anal fin (fin on bottom), and the tail is the head of the fish.
It's there....it looks sickly, but it is a fish. :)
Speaking of fish, off to the aquarium i go.
#20: Gypso (Gypso) on Apr 16, 2008
Hey Merka! Nice to see you again!
#21: Jen (lightvader) on Apr 16, 2008
You know Naneki, you just reminded me of the movie "The Incredible Mr. Limpet"

The story line (as I remember from the last time I watched it) is that this guy played by Don Knotts loves his fish. One day he falls into the ocean and turns into a fish.

I'm not sure how your sentaance reminded me of that. :/
#22: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Apr 16, 2008
too funny :)
#23: Merili (merilinnuke) on Apr 17, 2008
Hey Gypso! Nice to be seen :)
#24: audrey behen (snails!!!) on Oct 28, 2008 [SPOILER]

#25: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Nov 7, 2008
Very cute for such a small puzzle.
#26: Byrdie (byrdie) on Nov 13, 2008
This was the 4th puzzle I solved (counting the demo - which is harder than it appears!) and I have to say having a column in which all the dots are "painted" sure helps!

#29: Jota (jota) on Jan 5, 2009
Jan, would you honor us with a puzzle for this week's WC?
#30: Cro-Magnon (Hermit) on Nov 28, 2009 [SPOILER]
This puzzle really tripped me up at times. Quite tricky. I didn't think of using smile logic, so I wish that I had read the hints before solving. Adam's hint could have saved me some brainsweat. :-)

High marks for this one.
#31: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Apr 7, 2010
cute Jan, didn't know you guys have been doing this since 2005
#32: Jan Wolter (jan) on Apr 8, 2010
The first puzzles are this site, including this one, are dated March 24, 2004, so I'm guessing that is the date the site came on line, not that anybody would have noticed it except for a few friends that I mentioned it too. The forum messages are mostly newer, since the forums, in their full form, weren't added until later.
#33: KK (kauf) on Jun 24, 2010
i believe there's a logic error in the lower left of the puzzle.
#34: Gator (Gator) on Jun 24, 2010
What kind of logic error? It seems perfectly solvable to me.
#35: Diana W (aeris) on Feb 2, 2011 [SPOILER]
I definitely see the dog. Nice.
#36: Lilly Johns (LJohns315) on May 19, 2011 [SPOILER]
Is it a yorkshire terrier?
#37: Lilly Johns (LJohns315) on May 19, 2011 [SPOILER]
#38: Hannah Johns (Nini721) on Jun 26, 2011
cute. fun. :)
#39: Andrew Schultz (blurglecruncheon) on May 11, 2021 [SPOILER]
Sort of touched this popped up so soon after Bo Obama died. I don't know how randomized the front page PGNs are, but this is fortuitous at least.

We've had a few Presidential dogs since then. I was curious, so here's a wikipedia article:
