Nice image. It makes sense once I looked it up :)

Nice puzzle. Thanks for the link Kristen. I see where Diwali was observed yesterday. This site can be very educational.

Very nice image.

Here is the first paragraph of the link Kristen posted:

"Diwali (also spelled Devali in certain regions) or Deepavali,[note 1] popularly known as the "festival of lights," is a five day festival which starts on Dhanteras (Dhantrayodashi), celebrated on thirteenth lunar day of Krishna paksha (dark fortnight) of the Hindu calendar month Ashwin and ends on Bhaubeej, celebrated on second lunar day of Shukla paksha (bright fortnight) of the Hindu calendar month Kartik. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali falls between mid-October and mid-November. Diwali is an official holiday in India,[1] Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore and Fiji."

Here is what I understood: "... festival which starts s@ha#dfshf%a&j... lunar day of ask%fa*dkfjahd!akjsd... on the sdkjf?dfxadf@k ... ends on the sd@fka&flk*df%lk... month of slfks#djf@psk*dfjnda..."

LOL

Thank goodness for the clarification later on in that paragraph!

It errored out on me while saving. I thought the image was very good. Fun puzzle. Thanks for creating it!

That error thing is happening a lot. Jan is probably too busy to look at the problem.

Beautifully simple. Very enjoyable solve. Nice detail for a small puzzle.
#10: Teresa K (fasstar) on Nov 16, 2012
Nicely done, Aparna.

Thanks for the puzzle - the first Hindu one I've run across.

Tom, the error while save is usually a time-out. It's because the server is too busy. (The same as the very long load times.) If you want to (spend even more time to) save it, just undo and redo a pixel and it will try to save again.

And if you want to see why it's so busy just click on Users and then on last log in. Mind boggling.
