Puzzle Description:
After being home sick from school for an entire week, my son woke up this morning to find out that busses have been cancelled and there's no school! I think this snowman reflects his mood this morning pretty well. :-)

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone! My son had a hard time getting out of bed in time for school this morning. He said his legs hurt, lol!
I'm glad to hear that your son is well again. :)#7: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Dec 6, 2007 [SPOILER]
This is a beautiful puzzle Meg. I love how you did the arms, one white and one black. Nice. Cool tree and I love the ball on his cap!
No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to grow these at my house. :( I appreciate your snowman that much more. :)
Thanks for the fun. ^>^
Great snowman! I love snow days. Not many in southern Missouri but when we first moved here and it actually snowed a lot, the kids, used to Colorado snow, got ready for school and waited for the bus. No one thought to check for a snow day.#8: Arduinna (arduinna) on Dec 25, 2007 [SPOILER]
It seems like it doesn't snow here (Oklahoma) as much as it did when I was a kid, but we got to build a snowman last year. We made him a redneck with a trucker hat and a flannel shirt!#9: Gypso (Gypso) on Dec 31, 2007 [SPOILER]
Nice puzzle, Meg!
Hope you took a photo BG! I'd love to see that snowman. ;-)#10: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jan 2, 2008
I did, but I'm not technologically advanced enough to do anything with it. I still don't have a myspace page, though I plan to start one before I have to go back to school in a few weeks.#11: Gypso (Gypso) on Jan 2, 2008
Please let me know your address when you get a MySpace page up. :D#12: Jan Wolter (jan) on Feb 28, 2008
I built a snow man just a couple days ago. I follow my father's tradition of building a snowman, which does indeed start with a stack of big snow balls, but then gets sculpted into a more human shape. Arms, legs, face all sculpted out of snow, without sticks or carrots or lumps of coal. Usually they stand about seven feet tall.#13: Gypso (Gypso) on Feb 28, 2008 [SPOILER]
Last year we didn't have any good snowman building days (need at least a couple inches of good sticky snow and the kids have to be out of school). This year the first good snowman day we had happened to be just a few days after our newest baby was born, so I built a snowman holding a snow baby in his arms. All the passers by seemed to be assuming it was a snow lady, so I decided to go with the flow and give it long hair and a vaguely skirt-like base.
Though I always do my best to make my snowmen look friendly and cheerful, I do tend to give them rather deep set eyes, prominent brows and big noses, in hopes of creating enough shadow so that the white-on-white face can be recognized. Somehow, after a few days of melting/weathering, their faces always turn into rather horrific grimaces. I'm a little worried what this one holding a baby is going to look like in a few days. It was holding up OK the last time I looked at it, but it had developed a serious lean, so maybe it will fall over before it starts looking like some kind of Satanic baby snatching monster.
Wish I could see it Jan. Did you take a picture?#14: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Feb 28, 2008
I've never known anyone to put so much thought into making a snowman. Ice sculpture yes. This is the most clever "birth announcement" I've ever heard. :D
Sounds like you had some fun, Jan.#15: Jan Wolter (jan) on Feb 29, 2008 [SPOILER]
Yup. I have some photos but they didn't come out all that well. White-on-white sculpture against a background of white photographed on a hazy day with no shadows, as snow days so often are.#16: Gypso (Gypso) on Feb 29, 2008
Your photo sounds a little like a puzzle that JC made a while back. :)#17: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Apr 24, 2014
