I've seen the Red Solo Cup made of ceramic in a store. I guess it's a joke. I like the video.

It's a great song (i'd say more Frat Boy than Redneck), and it really gets stuck in your head!

Oh Oh - here comes Mama Teresa to spoil everyone's fun.

Beer + Polystyrene = America's two favorite carcinogens.

How funny is it to promote something that not only is harmful to one's health (binge drinking) but is also bad for the environment (Solo cups are NOT biodegradable).

There are lots of fact sheets out there that say polystyrene takes anywhere from 50 to 450 years to break down, and when it finally does break down, it leaves behind harmful chemicals.

The most credible information I found came from National Geographics; they are more careful about their stats than other media sources.

If you took the time to watch the video with the stupid song, take the same amount of time to read this article.

Now I have that barfy song in my head. HELP!!!!

Wow Teresa, I would not think of beer as a carcinogen. Sure, excessive consumption may lead to death in many ways, but there's plenty of other things Americans consume or do that I would think come in higher on the list as carcinogens, such as cigarettes, sun exposure, red meat...

When I occasionally drink beer, it's usually straight from the bottle, or poured in a glass or ceramic mug. Rarely in a disposable cup.

Yeah, most people don't think of drinking alcoholic beverages as a cause of cancer. We're not talking excessive consumption either. Here is a report from a World Health Organization working group that looked at lots of research:

"Overall, the Working Group confirmed that alcoholic everages are 'carcinogenic to humans' and concluded that the occurrence of malignant tumours of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, oesophagus, liver, colorectum, and female breast is causally related to alcohol consumption. The addition of breast cancer and colorectal cancer, two of the most common cancers worldwide, to the list of cancers caused by alcohol suggests that the proportion of cancers attributable to alcohol consumption is higher than previously estimated."

Even one drink a day increases one's cancer risk significantly.

Hooey.

...for a long time world health organizations considered eggs to be hazardous to one's health with all kinds of studies to back this up...until finally enlightenment dawned.

...and remember when formula was considered by world health organizations to be superior to breast feeding hmmmmm?

...I don't have a lot of respect for extremes of any kind, but beer and wine are foods made to be consumed with other foods. Period.

Teresa: I didn't know your background. I read the link that you had posted elsewhere. What valuable work you do. I can't believe your selfless devotion to helping others. I'll continue to create what strikes me. Humor is part of this creation process.

The bottom step/line in a Solo cup is for 1oz pours of liquor, the line in the middle is 8 ounces for wine, and filled to the top is for 16 oz of beer

Your Solo cup is missing its wine line.

If you think this song is redneck, check out the satire song "Double-D Cups" :)
