Puzzle Description:

Time zones in the USA. My apologies as this is the ugliest map of the country ever made.

Well, except for shortchanging Idaho and Texas, it's not too bad. Clever idea.

Arizona hops back and forth between P and M twice a year. Or maybe Arizona stays still while the rest of the country shifts. We are the only state that doesn't participate in the daylight savings time change.

Nah, it's a lovely fish! ;)

I think Indiana only recently gave in and joined its neighbors.

The history of daylight savings time is so interesting. I've heard various stories about the origin, but only in checking out Wikipedia did I find out that this idea was initially proposed by two men in two different parts of the world for very personal reasons. An entomologist from New Zealand proposed this idea in 1895 because he wanted more time to collect insects after work. And in 1905 it was proposed by an English builder who enjoyed playing golf did not like cutting his time on the course when it got too dark to play in the afternoon.

I am more familiar with the story of Ben Franklin, but his proposal was one of several tongue in cheek suggestions in a satirical article published in 1784.

It's not an ugly picture of the country, but a great picture of the ever elusive pmce fish.
