My sincerest sympathies. I have had a lost cat too, and it leaves a hole in your heart. If I may, here's some advice from the Humane Society (which I haunted 3 times a week for 9 months): Don't put food out, as other animals may visit and your kitty may stay away because of the strange scent. Odd as it seems, do leave his kitty litter pan outside, because that is the smell of home. Good luck to you, Kit E.

Can we know how the happy ending came to be?
#11: Kit E. Katz (hello) on Dec 5, 2011
There had been a bit of noise & chaos and he fled from it. Apparently basements have more hiding spots than is readily apparent to the human eye (even if one turns on all the shoplights and is armed w/ a high-powered flashlight)!

Funny thing is he didn't seem too hungry despite being separated from his food dish for so long; maybe he was dining on spiders?!

Nice picture, nice ending. Hope there've been, and there continue to be, many happy moments.

Cats do find neat places to hide. It's fun when you actually find it, but until then, it's a bit worrying.
