Puzzle Description:

On halloween I set up the telescope on the lawn and let people look through the scope at moon, planets, or star. I hand out candy from there. This keeps our dogs from going nuts ever time the doorbell rings and gives the parents a treat too.

Wow! That is so cool. I love the puzzle too, it is so well designed and was fun to solve. 5 points from me.

Nice one, Brian.

Thanks. I forgot to draw the bowl of candy. It is out of the frame.

Nice puzzle. Nice idea too.

Thanks. I've been doing it for a few years now and I have a following. "What are we looking at this year?"

No one is ever unimpressed seeing Jupiter or Saturn through a big telescope for the first time.

That is such a cool idea! and a good puz, too.

Thanks. Now, where can I get an astronomers costume? The one with the hat that has stars and moons on it.

You could just get a long fake beard and say you're Galileo! Seems he wore black, with a white collar.
#13: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Oct 25, 2011
I already have the beard but it isn't long like Galileo's.

My husband has been setting up his telescope on Halloween for a number of years. He was accused of pasting a picture of Saturn on the telescope lens because the person could not believe he could see Saturn so well. Great picture!

Happens to me all the time.

Great idea. I could not figure out the image until I read the story and then I was very impressed with how much detail you got into such a small puzzle.

Misreading can be fun. I first read the description's last sentence as ending with "... and gives the planets a treat too." Yep, those planets were feeling neglected. :-)

You just can't see their tears, because they're so far away.

At least on Halloween, Pluto gets to be a full-size planet.

Great idea for trick-or-treaters; I shall have to try it this year. Of course, I'll have to buy a telescope first.

What an absolutely great idea. You are my kind of neighbor, Brian!
