peek at solution solve puzzle
quality: difficulty: solvability: line logic only
Puzzle Description:
This was in response to Jan's comment on puzzle #1159-- that my picture was not of a scythe, but of an ax. Scythes, as he rightly pointed out, are for cutting grass. So, do you think this guy is going to use his to cut grass?

Terrific picture! I really enjoyed solving this one, it flowed very smoothly and logically up from the bottom row.#2: Arduinna (arduinna) on Oct 2, 2007
I'm glad you liked it Meg! I hope you don't take offense at me saying that I was a little influenced by your older "face" puzzles I've been solving lately. I think this one solves in a similar way, but the final picture isn't as realistic as yours.#3: Minnie Fuerstnau (m.fuerstnau) on Oct 2, 2007 [SPOILER]
Good and creepy- Halloween must be on the way! Thanks.#4: Jan Wolter (jan) on Oct 5, 2007
Very nice puzzle. Sorry the database crash ate the title and description. I hope you'll go back and fix those up.#5: nancy king (naneki) on Oct 5, 2007
Excellent..I am really impressed with the flow of the picture. good job#6: Twillis (twillis) on Oct 27, 2007 [SPOILER]
That's pretty much my ensemble when I am cutting grass, on account of my allergies.#7: Marie-Louise Ambrey (marz) on Nov 12, 2007
I really enjoyed this puzzle, great image and such a challenge too, loved it :)#8: Gypso (Gypso) on Dec 10, 2007
This was a puzzle that I couldn't "crack" at first and has been on my saved puzzles list ever since you posted it. Wow! Can that really be 2 months ago??? A comment on another puzzle about how our solving skills improve over time, encouraged me to try anew.#9: Jota (jota) on Jan 7, 2009 [HINT]
What a terrific image Arduinna. High quality work. I agree with Meg that it solves easiest from the bottom up. It was tricky enough to keep me thinking too.
Thanks so much BG. This was a great puzzle. ^>^
Somehow I don't get the feeling that he's going to cut grass ... I feel some uneasiness and I don't know why ...#10: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Feb 8, 2009 [HINT]
Twillis # 6 made me laugh tough ...
Thanks Theresa I loved it.
What a great image. I, too, solved from the bottom up. Having done several Statue of Liberty cross stitch, that is what I thought this was at first. Wonderful use of white boxes to indicate shape.#11: Arduinna (arduinna) on Feb 8, 2009
Thanks-- I don't recall seeing a statue of liberty puzzle on here (not that I've done them all). Seems like it'd make a good puzzle. And seems lik it would be done more often.#12: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Dec 13, 2017
Gorgeous!#13: Lauren B (lblair) on Jun 7, 2019
Nice.#14: Phill Ash (phlash) on Jun 5, 2021 [HINT]
FWIW, Buffy's axe was referred to as a scythe. That bugged me too...
