Puzzle Description:

Greetings from the Boneless Chicken Ranch! Wish you were here.

That would be so horrible. But unfortunately, it might be possible one day.
Nice creativity, Kristen.

XD OMG! I don't know what to say... Definitely very Larsonesque.

Made me think of that Ray Bradbury story "Skeleton", don't read it if you're squeamish.

I noticed the size - 30x30 or less for this week's WCP, I don't think this can be used for that purpose.
#4: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jun 29, 2011
your correct Bryan...we cannot consider this puzzle as is, but i will save it if she changes the size.
#5: Kristen Vognild (KRISTEN) on Jun 29, 2011
I missed the size restriction. I need to read these things more closely! This was, in fact, a Far Side:

Feel free to republish the bigger version as a separate puzzle - I hadn't solved it yet and might have an interest in it.

Thanks for your entry, this will result in tasteless soup.

Loved Gary Larson, loved your puzzle.
#11: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jun 29, 2011
Sorry, Bryan, I moved one chicken over and lopped off the right side of the puzzle.
#12: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jun 29, 2011
thank you Kristen

Definitely a weird image and a difficult solve (as in tedious - picking out all those ones).

Unfortunately, the chicken ranching world isn't too far from this. Many chickens are raised in cramped quarters and fed such rich feed that they develope large bodies with poor muscle structure and are barely able to move. Not boneless yet but they may as well be.

Go free range! Developed muscle definitely tastes better.

HaHa! Love Gary Larsen

challenging and fun solve. love the image and the sentiment. great job.

i also agree with byrdie regarding the chickens having poor muscle structure and, i believe, weak bones. when i was a kid chicken bones splintered when broken. they rarely do now.

Very fun solve. I enjoyed figuring out the red pixels. This was a great idea for this theme, Kristen.

Now that's what I call ground chicken...haha (groan)
good puzzle. :)

Re: Comment 8, if you click on the solved image, at the bottom it lists hyperlinks to the previous versions. I do prefer the composition of the first image, but I had to alter it to fit the competition parameters. ^_^
