Puzzle Description:

Rebus answer in comment section, #2 I think.

#1: Robert Kummerfeldt (rmkummerfeldt) on Oct 2, 2007 [SPOILER]

I like this a lot more than the word rebus puzzles. Picture rebuses have the challenge of normal PBNs and the brain challenge of figuring out the rebus. I would recommend putting the answer in a comment instead of the description so that the answer doesn't display before solver has a chance to solve the rebus.

I figured out the answer once I came up with the tap part. I thought that was the Spy-vs-Spy guy, but didn't come up with spy as the word right away. Very well done. I'll be looking forward to more.

Thank you, Robert, point well made, I changed it after your comment.

Rebus Answer: Spinal Tap = [spy (Mad magazine's Spy v. Spy] + [snail - s - i = nal] , (water) tap.

This was actually a pretty time consuming construction, which I don't mind if the crowd likes it. Please give feedback (something more insightful than "cute puzzle") if you'd like more along this line.

Cute puzzle! JJJC. I didn't get it straight away which is good, made me really think, the tap made it easier, so I think if you do more of these, if you have one obvious image and the others are not so easy that it will make for a fun and interesting puzzle, have to get a pencil and paper to help work out the answer maybe. I hope you do more, I loved it. The little spy is cute though :)
#4: Jamie Stringham (tassiturn) on Oct 17, 2007 [SPOILER]
It was good, but since the "-S-I" part was in red I thought it was supposed to be part of the spy part. I was really quite confused. :-P
#5: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Oct 18, 2007 [SPOILER]
cute puzzle...just kidding,
I had a little problem with the TAP, thought it was a mug of foaming beer, but after I saw the answer "duh" (the foam wasn't at the top of the mug..Good puzzle to make you think AFTER you solve it..
#6: Bionerd (nieboo) on Nov 3, 2007 [SPOILER]
I thought the S and I was a part of the red also. I had no idea what that picture was....and I also thought the tap was a foaming beer mug. But I think the idea is neat, and would like to see more.
pretty puzzle. how's that?

Very nice Bionerd. ;-)
#8: Jan Young (haidapup) on Nov 8, 2007
Well done - that was really good. I liked the new version better.
#9: Arduinna (arduinna) on Nov 20, 2007 [SPOILER]
I got P-snail also (spy is spelled with a y, not an I--duh!), but the tap helped! I actually didn't see a beer mug until I looked at it again after reading the comments.

Me gusta mucho!

Please do more!

Arduinna is right... you needed to subtract a "y" and somehow change the order of the letters (just the "i," actually) if you are going to use snail to be accurate, but anyway, it was able to be figured out. I love these "puzzle within a puzzle" puzzles! :-)
#11: Arduinna (arduinna) on Aug 24, 2008 [SPOILER]
I meant (I think-- this was a long time ago!) that I was reading it as Spy-SI=P, but that doesn't make any sense because "spy" has no I in it. The SI were meant to be taken from the snail. Read that way, it does make sense. I was reading it like Tassiturn in #4.
#12: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 24, 2008 [SPOILER]
Gotcha. All I was saying is that there needs to be some way to account for the "y," right?

A little late to voice support for picture-based rebus puzzles, but I'll do it anyway.. I like them much more than the word puzzles. The different images are like multiple puzzles in one, and word puzzles tend to be too simple and uninteresting. This was a great puzzle, complex and 'busy' but not overly difficult.

When I first finished the puzzle, I was perplexed... I had never heard of a band called "Pysnal Faucet". Then I thought some more and figured it out :)

Hi Nuggy! I like your login name. I've had grand intentions of doing some picture rebuses (rebi?) in the past. I did one once and was fairly happy with it. Maybe you could give it a shot? ;)
#15: Mikey (Nuggy) on Dec 12, 2008
Hi Arduinna,

I have a few that I can picture in my mind; the problem now is to try to make them recognizable without creating a huge puzzle. Stay tuned, I've only created 2 puzzles so far so I'm new at that part, but trying :)
#16: Arduinna (arduinna) on Dec 13, 2008
Mine's #2297 if you want to look at it.

Looking forward to what you come up with!

#4455 fulfills my promise of posting said material. Give it a shot, I'll try yours.
#18: Arduinna (arduinna) on Dec 20, 2008
Will do!
#19: GabrielMyCat (gabrielmycat) on Oct 21, 2010
