i used, if this is a valid name... internal smile logic at the top...nice chess piece Lilly

I agree with both of you. The 1 on R1 and the black pairs on R3-5 quickly convinces us that something like smile logic is needed. I would call it an "educated" guessing, tho...

After some initial line/color logic, I used edge logic on the 6 clue in row 10 to make R10C1-R10C3 dots. More line solving.

This just leaves us with 2 clues in the columns. Look at row 5. The 1 clue has to be in either R5C2 or R5C3. If R5C2 is black, then R1C2-R3C2 are dots. If R5C3 is black, then R1C3-R3C3 are dots. Looking one more move ahead, R2C2 and R3C2 would also have to be dots. So in either case, R2C2 and R3C2 will always be dots.

The rest solves with line logic.

You could have also used affirmation logic on column 2. No matter where you place the 2 clue in column 2, R1C3 and R5C3 will always be dots. And the rest will solve with line logic...

Nice puzzle!
