I'm not sure, this one looks real good .

Fruit. It grows on a tree.
#3: Kit E. Katz (hello) on May 25, 2011
Fruit, it contains the seed or pit... Hopefully they remove them before they can them (we occasionally find one that the pitting machine missed, just like canned cherries).

Nicely done.

definitely fruit, like a pickle or a tomato ;)

I don't care for the taste of olives, but they look nice when you decorate another food with them.
#6: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on May 26, 2011
I love olives especially calamatas
#7: Jota (jota) on May 26, 2011
I love the anchovy stuffed ones.

I'll probably acquire a taste for them. Now, who likes pasta salad? I'm crazy for it!

Green olives stuffed with blue cheese. YUM!!!!
#10: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on May 26, 2011
Yes Jota their great and so are the ones stuffed with jalapenos. Pasta salad is ok but i love spinach salad or tabouli salad.

No pasta salad for me. Pasta should be hot like ...

Who thinks pasta shapes taste better than others? I have certain preferences.
#13: Alicia Snyder (prinny) on May 30, 2011
Mmm.. pasta salad :) especially when made with Wacky Mac.. all different shapes and flavors. LOVE IT!

Yes, I love pasta salad too!!! The only part I don't like are the olives, they taste kind of bitter to me.
#15: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Jun 29, 2011 [SPOILER]
good puzzle, Lilly. I like black olives with nothing in them; that way the grandkids can wear them on their fingers while they eat them. I agree that some pasta shapes taste better but my husband says it is all the same but that makes it less fun.

Thank you, Sarah. Do you like that one tiny kind of pasta that are tiny little balls? I'm not sure what it's called, but it's very good in soup.
#17: Kit E. Katz (hello) on Jun 29, 2011
Do you mean orzo or maybe coucous, LJohns?

Sarah, pastas are generally made using the same basic recipe, but the shape of the product affects the texture and the "mouth-feel" of the product which in turn affects the way one experiences a food. For example: I love spinach salad with a little vinagrette, but I can't stand mushy cooked spinach with or without vinagrette. It's a textural thing, and that does definitely affect one's enjoyment at mealtimes. So you and your husband are both right.

Thanks, Kit E. I think it is couscous.

Actually an olive is both a fruit and vegetable. They are a fruit of a tree but culinarily they are used as a vegetable. The same goes for tomatoes.

Fruit.
