Sunday February 9, 1964, at 8 p.m., when the Beatles made their first American debut on The Ed Sullivan Show. During their appearance, that night, the Beatles sang five songs. I want to hold your hand was the last song.

Random observation: there is no such thing as a "first debut" as the description states. A debut is a first appearance. You can never again debut in the same place or way depending on the type of debut; in this case, you could't debut on Ed Sullivan twice.
