Puzzle Description:

Sunflowers. It helps if you imagine they're yellow. :-)

My son guessed they were sunflowers before I was finished, so you really dont need the yellow. Lovely picture, fun puzzle :)

Wow! What an awesome 3-D effect! I agree that you don't need the yellow. Your flowers just get better and better. Thanks rebelcat.

Since yellow is a primary color, maybe Jan would consider adding it to the pallette? It sure would expand people's possibilities for pictures. Not that you don't all do a fabulous job now! Thanks for the flowers.

I'll second what Minnie said - it would be great to have yellow - or even orange, if yellow is too pale a colour. Thanks for the comments, everyone!

I agree that yellow should be here. But how do I make the clue numbers readable?
#6: Meg Tayler (rebelcat) on Jul 11, 2007
Could you make the clue numbers orange perhaps? It's close enough to yellow, but bright enough to see, and I think people would understand that orange clues = yellow squares. The other solutions I've seen in print show the yellow on a black background, but I think that would mess up the way it shows a completed row.

Wow again Meg
like other said the 3D effect work real fine and the image is fantastic.

As for the yellow I think that having the clue in orange or maybe just in bold so that they appear more clearly could add much more creativity and diversity to the puzzle.

In other consideration you could be stuck with more and more coloring puzzle and that not as fun as real puzzle.

Yeah, that's another issue. There is a certain tendency to use all the colors available, but I find that beyond a certain point that just makes worse (and easier) puzzles. Still, I think most puzzle makers have the sense to exercise restraint when appropriate, so I'm not that worried about that. Mainly I think I need to do some redesigning of the user interface before I can effectively support more colors.

Yellow would be nice, but for this puzzle, it's absolutely unnecessary. You can tell what it is.

OK I'll shut up now :)
