Hey Jan,

I've been cruising the puzzle apps, looking for a pbn app. Do you have any recommendations? I tried going to webpbn.com, but it isn't very easy to use on an ipod touch.

Thanks!
Rosie

It's very hard to write a good pbn app for a phone. Unless you only do very small puzzles, you have problems with touching tiny squares with big fat fingers. I spent some time once trying to design one, but that project never got far. I haven't tried out a lot.

I'm tempted to buy a stylus, just to make solving puzzles on my iPad easier. :)

There are a few decent PBN apps for the iPad, but either they all have a very limited puzzle selection (and many of them don't seem to be concerned about solvability) or the puzzles are randomly generated. Much easier to accomplish than on a phone-sized screen.

This site is a little tricky to use in the iPad's browser, but it can be done. Puzzles up to about 30x30 or so are reasonably-sized for the platform.

I've been using my iPhone to solve the many "minimalist" puzzles. They're doable on the small screen. But the greater value is viewing and making comments. Keeps me in touch with the PBN community.

What about Nook? would love to see an app for this!
