There might be something else going on aside from conservation of water, Levi.

On MSNBC a woman was saying a good way to reduce your carbon footprint would be to not have children. She said a person's "footprint" goes up over 500% when s/he has a child. (!!!!)

Levi, it's a good thing this is an Internet community. :-)

Alison, I have heard that argument before. Very interesting. But I look at my three kids and think about their effect on this world.

The two older ones are adopted, so they were already here, and their "footprints" are heavy indeed, with their various disabilities and need for care. The third child was by birth, and his footprint enhances this planet immensely, as he has been the best role model for my son, thus helping his footprint not make such a deep impression, and he has been the best father figure to his sister when her own dad abandoned her. And... the planet has been blessed by some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard:

And when I think about the two kids with disabilities, I see how they have made this world a better place for many people. They certainly have played a major part in my becoming a better person.

Some footprints are worth their weight in gold. :-)

Yes, Teresa, I agree with your comment re: footprints worth their weight in gold. I added the comment because I thought it was extreme.
