This is the end of the series. Here are a few things I have learned:

These Asante tribe symbols can be found everywhere in Ghana. The designs are stamped on cotton cloth and have been painted on walls, on pottery and metal work. The designs have been passed down through many generations.

Adinkra cloth was originally the exclusive right of royalty and spiritual leaders, and only used for important ceremonies such as funerals. Adinkra means "goodbye."

Over time, the Asante incorporated more of their own philosophies and folk tales into the adinkra symbology. Locally, some symbols have hidden meanings, and many represent local proverbs, like the ones in these puzzles. The locals use certain symbols in their own costumes to make a statement, like we do with bumper stickers.

Here is the link for all the symbols:

these were lots of fun to solve. I'm sad they're over but look forward to your next series! (please let there be another series! :) )

What an entertaining and educational series. Thanks Teresa. This is a beautiful picture.

Another wonderful puzzle in the series. I have only done a few of them, but I love the symbols and how the symmetry is whacked at just enough to make them a nice challenge.

I do enjoy theses puzzles.

Telly and Jewel, thanks for your encouragement.

Al, thank you for noticing the whacked symmetry. I tried it with the symmetry at first, and it was too easy, so I changed it up on the left. Of course, the one on the right really needs to be symmetrical, but with two of them up there, it worked out okay.

Sanane, I will have to look that up. Stay tuned. :-)

Thanks, everyone. It might take me awhile to find another series that suits my fancy. My very favorite series that I created is the one based on the children's counting rhyme "One, two..." that begins with puzzle #5721:

Teresa, where do you take all the time craeting these puzzles? And solving all the others?

Your great, Mylady!

Thank you, good sir! I have no idea myself where I get the time. I have a job. I supervise the house where my two disabled "kids" live. I even have a life outside of webpbn. The job is part-time, and most of the time I can set my own hours. So I can "work" on this site in between tasks for my real job and crises with my kids. Somehow, I have a knack of stretching money and time to fit my needs. And I NEED to play on webpbn. :-D

What a life, Teresa.
You are a beloved lady!

I only just discovered these, and thoroughly enjoyed them. Thanks!

As CBPaul said, this was a really enjoyable series. It kept popping up randomly and I finally figured, why don't I sit down and look through them all? I'm glad I did. It's not your only neat series to look through!
