Oh wow, Teresa! Good thing you were on the ball there, diagnosing your daughter early.

My heart goes out to Karie.

It is sad. Very challenging disability.

This puzzle was not as clear as most of the others. But I am having great fun with the series. I thought that was a pretend disease I saw on TV once. Did not realize it was real. It must be so hard for everyone around her as well. Is there any medicine that can help?
#8: Teresa K (fasstar) on Apr 30, 2009
There is no medication that helps the hypothalamus, so she is always obsessing about food. She takes medications for her mental health issues, that that helps her to enjoy life. What makes her happy is beating me at Monopoly. We play every Sunday, and she has beat me 7 weeks in a row. And I don't let her win. She is the Queen of Monopoly. :-)

And she is in love. If you want to watch a feel-good video that is just two minutes long, watch this:

Are they definitely getting married in August?
#10: Teresa K (fasstar) on May 1, 2009
No. that's a date he pulled out of the air. I told them they had to know each other for two years. So now they have been "together" for over a year and are counting down to February of next year. They are still in love, so who knows, maybe it will actually work out. Aren't they cute?
#11: Jota (jota) on May 1, 2009
They are cute! Does he also live in the group home? I really hope it works out!

Karie and her brother John live in their own house. Jason lives with his parents. But we might need to move a third person into Karie's house, and Jason would be our choice for a roommate. There's no inclination for "fooling around" because their hormones are not functioning at normal levels, so that's one thing we don't have to worry about. Plus they have 24/7 staff at the house. Works out nicely for everyone. Mama's happy with all the arrangments, and you know what they say: "When Mama's happy, everyone's happy." "-)

Thanks for sharing this puzzle and this video. They are so sweet! Don't you love love that is innocent? :)

They are both so sweet. They had their first date at the frozen yogurt shop, and ever since then they have met there every Sunday, with me and his parents, and sometimes John. Jason makes sure EVERYbody knows they are engaged. Of course, they make everyone around them smile. :-)

great puzzle and very touching information about your daughter. i am quite familiar with prader-willi from my days at the dept. of human svcs. a remember some of the caseworkers not believing this syndrome was real. and if the caseworker cannot grasp the seriousness of it, can you imagine what kind of information they would impart to a potential foster parent? i could vent, but back to your puzzle - i love the "cold air" coming out of the fridge and all of the drawers and things.
