Must be acrylic. Very sturdy.

How do you rate a puzzle like this? It is a terrible picture. It is, however, a great picture for its size. Is this a 1, 2, 3, or 4? For a 10x10, it is great and deserves a 4. Without considering its size, it is a 2 (in my book as there is no guessing). I am going with 3 because this is as much thinking as I want to do before bed.

Paul, I rated this a 4 in quality (I know how hard it is to make a good small picture) and a 1 in difficulty. It is sad how low most small puzzles are rated. They are more difficult to make both beautiful and interesting than the larger ones.

People use ratings to choose a puzzle to solve. When they are choosing a puzzle they already know some things, including the size and the number of colors. So I tend to give ratings that tell how good I think the puzzle is, given the size and the number of colors. Actually I probably over compensate a bit, because I know small puzzles get under-rated so I'm trying to push them up a bit.
(Not that that makes much difference - one of the reasons that small puzzles get under-rated is that many, many more people solve them, which means my ratings make little difference.

I tend to rate difficulty a bit more on an absolute scale, but I try not to rate a big puzzle as harder just because it has more squares to click on. If it's always easy to find a way forward, then it's easy no matter how big it is. So I tend to rate difficulty on the depth of thinking needed, not on the duration. But it's a rare small puzzle that requires much depth, or much searching around for a place where you can make progress.

This is a terrific small, easy puzzle. Hope to see more of these from anyone who will make them, thanks.
