I have often wondered why a cat in the same room, same temperature will sometimes look "melted" like the cat in this puzzle, and then other times will be curled up in a tight ball.

You better believe it Bill. Just last night, my cat, who is quite heavy, moved to where my feet belong when I got up in the middle of the night. He was sound asleep when I returned and refused to budge when I tried to get back in bed.
