I actually only looked at the title and used the clues for a color guide.

Ok ok I admit it sounded stupid... what I mean is that I didn't use logic. This was one of those puzzles that I could see just by looking at the title and I only used the clues to know what order the colors should be in.

It helped knowing who the author was too, because you knew it'd be diamond shapes. simple to solve.
