Whoa JoDeen. I think you need to make the quilt. It'll take your mind off of all that other stuff going on.
Sorry about your mom, but at least she is going to where she can have help. My grandmother won't budge from her home and we all worry about her being alone.
Have you read daughter of the forest? It's about a guy of seven children having 7 children. He had 6 sons and the youngest was a daughter which perplexed him because he was the 7th son and wanted 7 sons. It's a fantasy tale. AN AWESOME read. if you get the chance between quilting, moving, wedding, and sending your children off.
Hope all goes well!
And there are always people listening here if you ever need it. No matter how old the forum is. We have no lives....okay I shouldn't speak for others...I have no life.

I agree that there are always people listening if you need it- and the comments often give me a smile and a lift.
I like this picture, too; I didn't have any idea what it could be in such a small space. Great idea, and thank you!

JoDeen, my mom is the 7th of 7 & she had 7 kids

ditto neiboo & minnie's comments
#10: Jane Doe (telly) on Aug 17, 2008
ditto the last three comments. I love reading the comments, sometimes more than solving the puzzles themselves. I shouldn't say that (imagine Hagrid's voice on that line, lol).

Good idea for a quilt block JoDeen. I too am a quilter so I totally sympathize. Sorry you're life is so busy... :D Get around to it someday and send it to me and I'll quilt it for you...I do machine quilting.

The puzzle is actually kind of fun considering that (1) it hasn't got a lot of white space and (2) it's yet another American flag. Not bad.

JoDeen! Fifteen years later I read your comment about how people wouldn't be likely to see your comment after about a week. I hope your family is okay. I'd love to see pictures of any quilts you (or anybody else here!) have made!!

A parenting group I'm in did a quilt square swap in 1999, where everybody made the same number of matching squares as the number of participants and sent them in to one person, who then distributed a set of all the different squares to everybody. So each person ended up with a set of squares that included one square from each of the other people. I still have my quilt squares, but I've never made a quilt in my life and want to start with a starter project and then someday move on to that one when I feel that I can do it justice. But so many years later I don't know if I ever will do it. I hope I do!
