GamerGate, which ... wasn't about ethics.
It basically focused on one person's bad behavior as "proof" the gaming journalism industry was irredeemably corrupt.
There's favoritism and bad-faith arguments but the (non-)solution GamerGate offered was even worse than minor cronyism, which is part of the human experience.
