Is this a hockey skate? Not real sure. Didn't have a major hockey team here in AZ until about 10 years ago and not having snow and ice here in the winter I didn't become a fan.

Thanks for your entry Al and Congrats!

Thx Jota, and thx for the runner-up. Oh and thx for using my challenge for the theme for #124.A lot of B&W's have been made for my challenge, can people use their old puzzles and just add WCP #124 to them?
#4: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jan 7, 2013
Yes it is a hockey skate Norma. I grew up with hockey and played a lot of it,so I'm a huge fan.:)

karl,I made the puzzle making sure it was ll solvable, then added blots while still keeping it solvable,to make it a better challenge. If it shows as solvable by logic alone,I don't see how you can say it's not. Obviously Bug proved that it is,thx Bug. It looks like it ended up being an enjoyable solve for all you experienced solvers.:)

Thx Tom buddy.:)

i did that David
#13: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jan 9, 2013
What David is saying makes sense,I haven't added the recent WCP#124 to any of my old puzzles,I was just wondering since there have been so many 20x20 B&W's lately. I'm sure people will come up with many more.
#14: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 9, 2013
If you read the rules as stated in Honors that issue is not covered. But it, of course, could have been elsewhere. Perhaps Jota knows.
#15: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Jan 10, 2013
you did that here in the comments of an individual puzzle, tom?

Sylvain's references to puzzles being new in Forum #112 alone are in Comments #1, 13, 19, 321, 392, 394, 518, etc. That's besides all the references to puzzles being made/created/posted, rather than found/renamed/re-purposed and ignoring the comments that say puzzles will be judged on originality. Joe outright asked the question in #473, but there is no response. It seems like the discussion I am remembering where it was "decided" that old puzzles shouldn't be entered was also in the comments of an individual puzzle, but I can't find it. Looks like I should take my own advice in comment #664 (Forum #112 again).

I'll stop now, mostly because none of this has any bearing on me anymore. i just wanted to make sure as much about the WCP is legitimate and clear for the people who can still enjoy it.
#16: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jan 10, 2013
I've seen a lot of puzzles that were made during the time frame of a contest, that also fit the theme and parameters of the contest, and creators were encouraged to change the title and make it an entry. The caveat here, I think, was that it was created during the two-week period of the contest, rather than renaming a puzzle that had been made a month (or more) prior.
#17: Jota (jota) on Jan 10, 2013
Right! Kristen!
#18: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jan 10, 2013
thx K...sorry David you are soooo sad and stopped enjoying the WCP with us; perhaps you'll reconsider someday :)
#19: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Jan 11, 2013
agree with kristen also. i might tom. luckily i'm not sad for myself.
#20: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jan 13, 2013
The sad thing is that a lot of us aren't seeing as many great puzzles from the likes of you David, and Kristen,Teresa, Sensei, and probably many others. After all isn't that what were mostly here for?:)
#21: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Jan 13, 2013
Did you actually use "great puzzles" and "Sensei" in the same sentence, Aldege? We all know what happened the last time Sensei started churning out great puzzles left and right. :-)
