Interesting perspective, although the baton is rarely if ever held in the left hand, and when the conductor is really into the music he or she is not reading the score but looking at the orchestra. Still, a nice image.

even if he's left handed,Lollipop. I actually had no idea,i'm just looking for things to make B&W 20x20's about, lol.:)

Yup, Aldège, even left-handed conductors are usually trained to use the baton in the right hand. Do keep up the B&W 20x20s - they're my favourite.

Once Beethoven had a fine ear
But in later life just couldn’t hear
Yet his music’s a wonder
From pp to thunder
How he managed to do it, unclear.

Thx Teresa,Kristen,Susan,Lollipop, and Marie-Louise,wow where are the males other than Tom,lol. Cool poem Lollipop. I have a modest collection of classical cd's,i use to have more, but my oldest daughter absconded a lot of them. I also love classical music as well as some jazz. The only music I really can't stand is rap,and i can only handle small amounts of country music, unless it's the old,old stuff.:)

My dad was a very knowledgeable classical music lover and played piano, violin, and viola as an amateur. I took piano lessons for 12 years and have absolute pitch, which is sometimes a curse. I inherited my dad's 5,000 records and his fine turntable, and I have about 500 CDs of my own. I have often said that my musical tastes ended around 1850, with a brief revival in the 1960s for the Beatles and folk singing. I now attend about two dozen concerts a year.

I wrote a few limericks about Beethoven to submit to a contest on CBC Radio Two. Here's another:

At bedtime, when he was a boy,
Not for Ludwig the usual toy.
Instead he composed
In his sleep, as he dozed,
His Symphony 9, Ode to Joy.

I love your poem. Lollipop. I invite you to add your special touch to the poems in the comments of this puzzle:

And anyone else who is so inclined, of course. :-)

I gave it a shot, Teresa, but all the good ones were taken, lol. I guess I'm better at Beethoven. Last one:

My mom used to say, ”Practice, please,
Until you can play it with ease.
This one’s for you.”
But I whined, “That’s not true.
It’s not for me, it’s Für Elise.”

Lollipop, you are 1 lucky girl to of been brought up around great music and to have inherited such a huge record collection and great turntable. Did he leave you a nice tube amp to play those records thru. I hope so and if not you might want to invest in one so you can hear just how beautiful the music is. Your limericks are great, the CBC should of signed you to a contract.:)

I love your Beethoven ditty, and I'm still laughing at your Ode to a Pixel and Tom's response.
