I bet skweedle's memories are from at least upper elementary. I was about to write, it must be a lower elementary classroom. I'm weird in that I have an elementary major and a math major. I taught 3rd grade where the kids literally almost came out of their seats with their hands up when they knew an answer and taught 8th grade math the next year. The kids couldn't even bother to raise their hand if the question is 1+2. Big difference. I teach high school now but still like the enthusiasm of the young for learning.
