I can't seen to find any of your puzzles. Please tell me where they are. I want to see what good puzzles look like. I'm new at it.
nice puzzle trish! i don't do many that need guessing, but this one was pretty straightforward, got it first time#5: Trish (tryingmysoul) on Jun 4, 2010
Thank you!#6: Teresa K (fasstar) on Jun 5, 2010
Al, I agree, the guessing wasn't so bad.
Trish, Naum's request is reasonable. Some cultures may not have eye charts like this, so it might not be recognizable. I always write a description, even if it is obvious to me, it might not be to others. Also, a puzzler can be a critic of what makes a good puzzle without being a creator. If you are serious about wanting to know what makes a good puzzle, you can carefully read the article Jan wrote that is linked to the puzzle creation page. You can also take a look at the comments in forum topics #6 and #10. You can find those forum topics by clicking on the Forum link on the left, and choosing "All Topics" from the menu box at the top.
You won't be able to please everybody all the time, of course, but one thing I have learned is that most people want a puzzle that is solvable by logic, without guessing.
I look forward to more of your puzzles.
